St. Agnes Junior High

February 1st, 2022

February 1 marks the beginning of African Heritage Month. This year’s theme is Through Our Eyes: The Voices of African Nova Scotians. The theme highlights that when we listen to others’ perspectives, interpretation, and views on the world, particularly those from marginalized communities, we will gain a more meaningful understanding on how to make our world a better place.
Throughout the month of February and beyond, St. Agnes will celebrate and promote the culture, legacy, achievements, and contributions of people of African descent in Nova Scotia.

Today also marks the beginning of the Lunar New Year. On this day, also known as the Chinese New Year, we bid farewell to the Year of the Ox and welcome the Year of the Tiger. The Lunar New Year is seen as a time of reunion and rebirth, marking the end of winter and the start of spring

Grade 9 students are reminded that they must have their grade 10 course selection sheets signed by parents/guardians and returned to their homeroom teachers by this Friday. Also, all grade 9 students - please make sure you know how to sign into Power School so you can complete your course selections online in a couple of weeks.
