Each year the Halifax Regional Municipality’s Citizenship Award is presented to outstanding Grade 9 students in HRM.

Each school will have only one award recipient. Recipients are chosen based on the following criteria:
• Qualities of leadership and service in the school and community, and
• Commendable performance in the courses in which they are enrolled.

All grade 9 classrooms were informed of this award at school this morning and they know that there are paper copies of this application available in the main office. Any students who wish to be considered for this award must have their completed applications returned to the school’s main office by Monday, March 28th. Their two Evaluation Forms, completed by references of their choice, must also be submitted directly to the school by the referees by this date. The school’s awards committee will select a recipient for this award later that week, and the recipient will be announced by Friday, April 1st.
