St. Agnes Junior High

February 7 2021 school update

Good evening St Agnes Junior High School students, families and school community,

I would like to provide you with an early February update that includes many of the positive things happening at our school:

  • There have been crosswalk flags added to the crosswalks near the intersection/3-way stop on East Perimeter Road to improve visibility for our students on the journey to and from school.

  • We recently provided all our students with an additional non-medical reusable mask. Students are reminded to arrive at school with a mask and a refillable water bottle. Though our provincial COVID 19 situation continues to improve we need to continue to be vigilant with our public health directives.

  • We are off to a positive start in February recognizing African Heritage Month. We are learning about many of the significant contributions by African Canadians to our history through our daily quiz questions. We are excited to have great some great daily prizes as part of our quiz this month.

  • Our grade 9 students have started exploring course selection for grade 10 through our School Counsellor – Ms. Manning. This process is on-going throughout the month of February.

  • Halifax Shopping Centre has provided gift cards to help support our Gator Greats program. Students who are recognized for outstanding contributions will receive a $10 gift certificate along with their Gator Great certificate. We are very appreciative of all of the kind acts and the focus on academics our students bring to our school on a regular basis. Keep up the great work. You may be the next winner.

  • Our PTA has organized a COVID safe fundraising initiative where you can purchase fruits and vegetables during the month of February. Please see our attached flyer for more details.

Thank you for your ongoing support of our school. Please stay safe,

Barrett
